Composition and Recording

This video shows you a session in which we (me and the student) are trying to record the melody we wrote for his original song.
In the lessons with him, we're composing and recording an original tune mainly based on his ideas, using the Garage Band application in his Mac Book.
Prior to the session part of which was recorded in the video, we had so far completed:
- Building chord changes for the entire tune
- Sectionizing the tune (Verse, Chorus, Bridge, etc.)
- Creating drums, bass and keyboard parts with MIDI
- Recording a rhythm guitar part
- Composing and recording melody for the verse section
And, in this session, we worked on composing and recording melody for the chorus section. The chord progression for the section is somewhat tricky (G13 - F#+7, Bm7, G#Ø) and it was quite challenging to write melody for it.
In the video, we are trying to get precise about the length of the notes we record.
