In My Life was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and was included in
The Beatles' "Rubber Soul" album released in 1965.
I transosed the tune from its original key of A into G in order to gain some uniqueness in this solo-guitar version.

When the tune enters the "chorus" section, I'm using the chord shown in this image. I hit the open E string (the second event in the image), and then I play four notes on top of it. Together, those five notes constitute a chord of Em7(11) (pronounced
E minor seven eleven).

At the end, I inserted this little segment that makes the harmony somewhat interesting. The first two chords here make up a two-five pattern in the key of Eb, and the last two make up a two-five in G. The key of this tune is G, therefore, I'm temporarily modulating into the key of Eb here (with the first two chords) and then modulating back into G. And the first chord of the "G" two-five is Am9, which is also a target chord of Bb13. Bb13 is a dominant chord, and dominant chords can move down by either a perfect 5th or a half-step to resolve harmonically.
