Amazing Grace is a hymn whose lyrics were written by John Newton, but its composer is unknown.

This is the beginning of the melody. The tune is in 4/4 and exclusively uses 8th triplets instead of straight 8th notes.


This image shows you the B section of the arrangement, where I use dominant 7th chords continuously. The second one (G7) is a preparation for the C9 on the second line, and the Db+9 (pronounced D flat augmented 9) is also a preparation for C9. Db7 in this context is what they call a SubV (sub five) chord: a 7th chord that can be used as a substitute for another 7th chord. The Db+9 above is a SubV for G7 right before it.
