2008.06.09 (Mon) - San Francisco, Day 2, Pt.3

The next day I brought it up at the bank and they told me interest rates are influenced by how well economy is doing. They're giving me the highest interest rate at this point of time. No worries.

13:30 - Chinatown. It's not as big as I thought. Well, bigger than the one in Boston. As you know it's forbidden to hang your laundry in American cities, but here I find some hung at higher floors like 5th floor or 7th. lol

Although I'm in the best area to eat, I'm not so hungry after eating the crab. So I pass through Chinatown and head to Union Square.

14:00 - Union Square. Buy a denim jacket. I have to be careful not to call it "G-jan" as they do in Japan. 15:00, On the way back to hotel, I feel hungry. So I stop at the King of Thai Noodle restaurant on O'Farrell St and have fried rice. It's so delicious that it makes me a repeater to the restaurant during the stay. The fried Thai rice is not the sticky type like the Japanese one, and it's slightly got this shrimp-ish flavor mingling among each rice grain. Maybe they season the rice with shrimp soup or something. Wonderful.

15:30 - Hotel. A bit of sleep and shower. 17:30 - Change into the denim pants and jacket I've just bought, and go to a coin laundry. Wash the denim pants I've been wearing ever since departure. It's okay to wash the underwear myself using the bathtub, but this denim I don't want to wash myself.

Let the washing machine do its job and go out to wander around. A guy in the 40s speaks to me. He's apparently gay. I'm not anti-gay or anything, but this is not so much a welcomed case. I manage to end the conversation nicely and leave.

18:30 - Hotel. A bit of sleep. 22:00 - To club 222. Boring. It's like an event where those hiphop dancers show each other's skill, and there're only guys on the floor. I leave immediately. Lucky that I wasn't charged at the door.

On the way back I hop into Lori's Diner and have Club House Sandwich. The sandwich is yummy and so are the pickled cucumber and chili pepper. Go to bed around 23:30.
