2008.06.08 (Sun) - San Francisco, Day 1, Pt.2

13:00 - 14:00 - Kill some time taking a nap and such in the lobby at the hotel. Speaking of sleep, it really is time for me usually to be in bed and all. They let me check in at 14:00. Thank God. 14:30 - Go for a walk to Union Square after a shower. I'm not so sleepy. I guess it's okay to say the square is kind of like the center of San Francisco. About 10 minutes from the hotel.

15:00 - Starbucks. The "Coffee of the Day" as they call in Japanese Starbucks is called "Freshly Brewed Coffee" here. (The term "coffee of the day" was alive in some other coffee chain in Boston 10 years ago..)

Tall Hot Coffee costs only $1.55. Cheap.. I mean the Japanese price is too high - 330yen=$3.04. I also buy some beans to bring home. Cheaper here again.

18:00 - After walking around in Downtown, I go back to the hotel and get some sleep. 21:00, Wake up and prepare for going to "Club French Kiss" at Pink. The hotel has an in-room safe, so I get the key for it at the front desk. As to the money, I'm now without big worry.

22:30 - 20 minutes walk to the club Pink. Go southward on the Van Ness Ave, pass the City Hall and I come to the crossing of the highway and Van Ness. It's scary, because there is hardly anybody around. Think I'll take another road on the way back.

23:00 - The bartender gives me a cocktail in the color of pink, saying it's kind of like the specialty of the venue. In California, all clubs are smokeless according to the law. Pretty neat and comfortable. It also helps me to keep my energy alive while dancing.

Check out and dance to Deejay Mykill's and DJ Forever 21's sets. I quite liked them so I spoke to the guys. Figuring out I'm from the Big T, Mykill says "Have you heard of the stabbing in Tokyo?" No. (The Akihabara massacre.) I give my demos to them, saying my best regards and that I'll come back to SF.

2:00 - Again, according to the California law, the club closes at two. I think it's fair enough. Partying until two is pretty good. On the way back to hotel I take Mission St. This one seems safer. 2:30 - Back in the hotel. Shower, watching TV and going to bed around 3:00. (Next)
