This is a remix for
Beautiful Envy by
chietronix.

chietronix is an electronic solo project by Tomoaki Ohtaka, who is also known as guitarist
Jacky Ohtaka.
Jacky Ohtaka was a member of three-piece rock band
Super Stupid from 1993 to 1999.
I've known him for several years now, and we've always been checking out each other's works. I'm a big fan of chietronix's album
sTretch gLitch, which was released in 2007.
(You can download the album from
iTunes Store, and you can also listen to "
Voco", one of the tracks from the album, on
his Myspace site.)
chietronix
The music of chietronix is somewhat mysterious. It sounds very familiar, but you never know how the hell he created that.
When you listen to
Voco, for example, it sounds very pop and entertaining, and yet there are always tiny little elements that are unmistakably "different" in the music. Those "out" stuff are hidden in the background, but it comes out secretly to grab you as the tune goes on. And the next thing you know is you are a slightly different person from who you were before listening.
He's like someone you've known for ages, but at the same time he's totally alien and unknown. He's there, but he's not there.
sTretch gLitch is a very electronic sounding album on which he attempted the so-called "glitch" sound. But for this remix, he used classical-instrument sounds from
EDIROL HQ-OR Orchestral, which is what I did for the original version too. The instruments in the remix are two violins, viola, cello, two flutes, brass ensemble and orchestral cymbals. I'm so glad he endeavored to try yet another new thing after achieving such great musicality on
his previous album.
The fast phrases of violin and the ensemble on the chorus section are so pleasant, containing thrill and pureness simultaneously. Cello is added at the 2nd chorus for extra richness, and the tune reaches a climax at the last chorus. I hope you'll enjoy this remix as much as I do.

(Verse 1)
My name is Masa, I don't know your name
Hoping our tastes are kind of the same
First I wanna tell u I'm glad u came
If we don't be friends, it would be a shame
We want sound we never heard before
From the frontier no one has explored
The music is real, it's what I'm livin' for
Without it, maybe I feel insecure
I push the fader, pull the fader
You know I'm down with space invaders
I've always been like a beat-crusader
Ever since I was a seventh-grader
It's okay to dance, okay to chill out
You can sing along, you can even shout
The vibe is high, there is no doubt
Let's have a ball, we'll twist and pout
(Chorus)
Beautiful envy is what I'm feeling
This is a scene that's so revealing
Makes me stronger and takes me higher
People are feeling so freewheeling
(Verse 2)
Girls and boys, release the tension
And exercise freedom of expression
Show them what u are, make an impression
Fill the place with inspiration
Check the bass drum, check the hihat
And then scream like a crazy cat
When the music is over let's go have a chat
And talk about this and that
But, for the time being, let's all swing
And make believe we're queens and kings
Party crowd is my favorite thing
I love dancing, the art of doing
Meeting travelers from foreign land
Makes me informed and feel grand
I'll come up to you and shake your hand
Together we can make an interesting band
