"Dance in the Woods"

This tune was inspired by the impression I had while dancing at an outdoor techno party. It was at Yoyogi park.
As of 2008, the club scene is increasingly getting pressured by the police in Tokyo. We often hear about parties getting raided by police officers saying such dance parties are illegal after midnight. (Such a law does in fact exist in Japan. But of course there're many night clubs operating after midnight and allowing customers to dance. So it's sort of a double-standard situation, I suppose.)
My mother started dancing Nihon Buyo when she was a child, and she kept dancing when she grew up and had a job. So when I was little she'd dance in our town's festivals and other events. This influence makes me like everything about dance: dancing, watching others dance, music for dance, etc.
When I lived in London, I went dancing so often. I was so happy to see my heart could talk with other people's when we dance.
I don't know what the police is thinking when they raid nightclubs, but dance itself is pretty beneficial to our mental and physical health. It cheers you up when you're down, and it makes people friends.

This is the synth part at the intro. The key signature is D major, but the riff is in D minor, incorporating a blue note (Ab).

And this is the main drum pattern, also heard at the intro.

The last chorus section near the end of the song. The tune has now modulated into Eb major.

(Lyrics)
(Verse 1)
The DJ works the mix
Slippin' in the heavy kicks
I'm diggin' the stabbin' beat
Stompin' my funky feet
This music we're after
Protects us like a shelter
Flashlight in the air
Friendly smiles everywhere
The organizer grabs the mic
And tells us what it's like
To throw a party like this
Something you cannot miss
Donations in the bucket
Contribution from my pocket
I really love the vibe
Dance music for my tribe
(Chorus)
Dance in the woods, I feel good
Dance in the woods, good
I leave my worries behind
And I will ease my mind
Dance in the woods, I feel good
Dance in the woods, good
And you could feel the same way
If you, too, dance in the woods
(Verse 2)
I'm near the DJ booth
The art of mix is very smooth
Asian, Latino, Black and White
Any race, we can unite
Teenagers dance wildly
And the elderly dance mildly
Sharing their happiness
Fillin' each other's emptiness
Someone offers me a drink
People willing to move in sync
The sound gets louder gradually
The drums bang continually
An outdoor gathering
No more lone wandering
Cherry blossoms in your view
The music makes you truly new
The chord changes for the intro and verse sections are
Dm7 - BØ - Bb13 - BØ. The changes for the chorus section is
DΔ7 - G69/B - Bb13 - G69 - A9.
The changes in the interlude part (shortly after the 2nd chorus) is
Ebm7 - Co7. The last chorus section has the sam changes as the previous ones, but in the key of Eb which is a half step higher.
